The Kingdom, Hawari
said, should take advantage of its natural areas suited for medical tourism,
such as the Dead Sea, which may be a good destination for patients with heart
and respiratory diseases.
The minister called
on investors to consider medical tourism projects in the area, noting that
Jordan is capable of building a world-class medical tourism sector that “no one
can compete with”.
The minister
recommended that the sector explore new markets, such as
Eastern Europe, where
patients may experience delays in medical operations due to waiting lists.
Jordan could market
the integration of medical tourism into regular tourism, he pointed out.
Furthermore, highly
skilled medical professionals are returning from abroad to the Kingdom, which
also boasts advanced medical centers, Hawari noted.
