AMMAN — Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah
chaired an expanded planning committee meeting at the Teachers Club in Amman.
The meeting, attended by the Ministry's General Secretaries for Educational
Affairs, Nawaf Al-Ajarmeh, and for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Sahar
Al-Shakhatreh, discussed various educational issues, including school hours
regulations and vocational education.

Mahafzah emphasized the importance of
monitoring by education directors to ensure attendance, especially for Tawjihi
students, aiming to reduce unjustified absenteeism. He highlighted the
significant role of education directors, specialized managers, department
heads, educational supervisors, school principals, and their assistants in
regulating the educational process, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
The Ministry's keen focus and plan for
vocational education were reiterated to combat unemployment and enhance
professionally trained competencies. Mahafzah stressed the need for collective
efforts to achieve the desired goals in developing this educational branch.
During the meeting, continuous implementation
of intervention plans for educational dropouts was urged, highlighting the
Ministry's commitment and positive outcomes achieved through these plans.
Mahafzah also mentioned the "My School
Belongs" initiative launched by the Ministry in collaboration with the
Ministry of Environment, emphasizing the need for attention and follow-up to
improve the learning environment and address related challenges in schools for
their enhancement.
