AMMAN —
Investment Minister Kholoud Saqqaf on Monday laid the cornerstone for a
garments company expected to provide around 1,550 job opportunities in
Al-Jadedah area of Karak Governorate, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

The new garments
company exemplifies the type of investment projects the ministry seeks to empower
and support, with the aim of creating jobs for the people of Karak, Saqqaf
said.
The ministry is
also working to expand the Kingdom’s advances in economic development to all
governorates and regions.
Within its plans to
empower investors, the Investment Ministry will continue to support the new
garments project and other existing and new projects, she said, noting that the
ministry’s action plans are in line with the Kingdom’s economic modernization
vision, which aims to create jobs and reduce poverty and unemployment.
The new
Investment Environment Law, which was published in the Official Gazette under a
Royal decree, is in keeping with global best practices for improving the
investment environment and attracting and enabling new investments, the minister
said.
