During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the Second International Labor Market Conference currently taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, both ministers emphasized the importance of ensuring that the new mechanism would prevent the diversion of labor from certain sectors, such as agriculture, to other sectors, through cooperation between both parties.
According to a statement issued by the ministry today, both ministers stressed that the new mechanism should also ensure the provision of qualified and trained Egyptian labor for sectors requiring it in the Jordanian labor market, particularly in professions needed by the local market.
The ministers noted that this ongoing cooperation is a result of the deep historical relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, guided by the directives of the leadership of both nations.
Dr. Al-Bakkar indicated that the Ministry of Labor would coordinate with various sectors in Jordan, including the chambers of industry, commerce, and other sectors such as construction and agriculture, to identify their labor needs. Based on these needs, the ministry will work with Egypt to facilitate the recruitment process.
On his part, the Egyptian minister assured that the Egyptian Ministry of Labor is committed to educating Egyptian workers about their rights and the consequences of violating Jordan's labor laws to ensure compliance with Jordanian labor regulations and the systems governing the labor market. He also emphasized Egypt's commitment to providing skilled labor in professions required by Jordan’s various sectors.
