AMMAN — The education minister of Jordan,
Azmi Muhafaza,
emphasized on Tuesday that one of the key priorities of the
Ministry of Education in the upcoming phase is to enhance the enrollment of students in
vocational education.

During the annual review of the joint
strategic plan for education for 2022, Minister Muhafaza met with stakeholders and partners to
assess the progress made in implementing the plan, the Jordan News Agency,
Petra, reported.
Reforms in vocational education
Minister Muhafaza highlighted that the Ministry has
implemented significant reforms in the vocational education track.
The reforms include disconnecting vocational education from
low-performance academic achievement, introducing new specializations that
align with the evolving labor market requirements, and expanding the number of
specialized vocational schools.
The minister also acknowledged the ministry's efforts in
overcoming challenges related to the strategic plan, particularly in light of
the nation's aspirations to modernize the public sector and promote economic
advancement.
These initiatives align with the royal visions for Jordan's
development.
