AMMAN — The Minister of State for Media Affairs Sakher Dudin on
Thursday said that all hospital admissions involving mutations of COVID-19 over
the past two days involved those who have not yet been
vaccinated.

In
remarks made on a local radio program, the minister urged people to get
vaccinated, adding that Jordan aims to vaccinate 4.5 million people by the
first half of September, according to Al-Ghad news.

News reported on Wednesday that despite a steadily unfurling vaccination campaign, half of Jordanians over 60 — a group at increased risk for severe illness from the COVID-19 —
have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Many who spoke with
Jordan News said that they still harbored concerns
about vaccines, while overcrowding at sites using Pfizer pointed to others
foregoing the Sinopharm vaccine.
