Ministers visit Al-Balqa to assess citizens’ needs

AMMAN — Following His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives, Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh on Wednesday met with Al-Balqa Governorate dignitaries, media outlets reported.اضافة اعلان

The visit, which comes to implement the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, is part of the government’s program of visits to all Kingdom governorates to assess the needs of the citizens, and work on improving their lives.

The government has allocated JD1 million to the Greater Salt Municipality to help preserve and boost this heritage city that is on the World Heritage List, and JD1 million to support the municipalities of Balqa governorate to establish productive projects, according to Khasawneh.

The premier directed the Ministry of Health to study, with the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, the possibility of transforming Salt government hospital into a military hospital within two years.

He also directed the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to implement the alternative route of Al-Arda-Jordan Valley road, which is being rehabilitated to be the alternative route from the Humra Al-Sahen area to Deir Alla, worth JD1.5 million.

The prime minister said that the government has taken many measures to stimulate investment, like reducing land prices for investors in the industrial area, and that there are committed investments of up to JD21 million, offering 590 job opportunities.

Accompanying the premier were 13 other ministers.
