The agreement, signed by Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Adel Sharji, COO of Presight, an Abu Dhabi-based company specializing in big data analytics using artificial intelligence, aims to enhance health services through modern technologies.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan expressed Jordan's appreciation for the United Arab Emirates' continued support, stressing that the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development remains a vital partner in Jordan's development efforts.

Toukan emphasized that this agreement is part of a $400 million memorandum of understanding signed in November 2022 between Jordan and the Fund. The digital transformation project, which focuses on improving healthcare delivery and keeping pace with technological advancements, is the first phase of this cooperation.

Smeirat noted that this project marks a significant step towards a fully digitized health sector in Jordan. The initiative includes developing platforms for health data exchange and providing remote services, such as telehealth through a virtual hospital. These advancements will improve healthcare accessibility for citizens, while a new patient billing system will enhance efficiency in hospitals and health centers, aligning with the goals of Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision.

Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development Mohammed Saif Suwaidi reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to strengthening development relations with Jordan and supporting its efforts to tackle various challenges. The "Digital Transformation in the Ministry of Health" project also includes rehabilitating the old al-Salt Hospital building and introducing electronic systems for improved service delivery.

Since 1974, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has been a key partner in Jordan’s development efforts, contributing around $2.7 billion to numerous projects, including infrastructure, service, and development initiatives.
