In a phone interview with Radio Hala, Barmawi highlighted
the ministry's strategy of implementing price ceilings to
curb market price hikes. He assured that current poultry prices remain stable, with occasional
minor fluctuations.
Barmawi emphasized the ministry's commitment to safeguarding
consumer interests by taking legal measures against unjustified price increases
on poultry and other essential goods. The ministry regularly conducts field
visits, particularly before Ramadan, to monitor market dynamics and ensure
fairness for both consumers and traders.
In parallel, Khalil Amro, Assistant Secretary-General for
Marketing and Quality Affairs at the
Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), addressed
concerns over poultry exports. Amro disclosed that poultry exports from the
Kingdom have been suspended since February due to delays in importing feed
caused by the crisis in the Red Sea region. To mitigate these challenges, the
MoA has implemented measures to secure the necessary inputs for poultry
production.
