The ministry said on its Twitter account that the
Sanad application has many advantages, adding that about 150,000 people were
using the application as of August.
It said the number of those who downloaded the
application exceeded 2 million people, as it was a requirement for entering
public and private facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship
Ahmed Al-Hanandeh said that some 400,000 people had activated their accounts on
the Sanad application, 150,000 people activated the digital identity, while 2
million people downloaded the application on their phones.
The government launched the Sanad application in
February 2020 as part of the executive package five of the government’s
economic program to support “electronic services and improve the business
environment”.
Following that, several updates were made to the
application to solve glitches.
People can sign into the Sanad application with a
unified password and username, instead of multiple passwords to complete
government transactions.
The ministry said that the most prominent services
in the latest version of the Sanad application is the digital signature,
digital verification of signed documents, requesting data updates, and
resetting the digital identity password.
The application also makes possible inquiries about
companies and individual institutions through the national number, inquiries
about judicial implementation, competitive ranking, and traffic violations.
The application also provides digital access to personal
documents, such as the family book, health insurance card, and personal
information, such as passport, social security, real estate, among others.
