Ministry spokesperson, Daifallah Fayez, said that the success of efforts that
led to the ceasefire and halting Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip was a
first positive step.
Fayez said in a statement that international efforts are needed to pave the way
for launching serious negotiations to achieve a permanent and just peace on the
basis of the two-state solution, Arab Peace Initiative, and international
law.
The statement added that Jordan had worked since the start of the conflict with
concerned parties around the world to stop all Israeli aggression and illegal
measures in occupied Jerusalem and the rest of Palestinian lands.
Fayez commended the efforts that led to the ceasefire, especially efforts by
Egypt, Qatar, and the US.
