AMMAN — The
Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply on Friday stressed that it will
continue to monitor the market prices during Eid Al-Fitr holiday, and that it
will ensure the availability of all commodities, according to Khaberni News.

Ministry spokesman
Yanal Barmawi stressed that the ministry is committed to the ministry’s laws,
and that it will be monitoring particularly prices at food, clothes, dessert
shops and restaurants.
The ministry found
more than 1,700 violations related to commodities across the Kingdom from March
10 to March 27, such as absence of price tags, non-compliance with price caps,
or with announced sales, Barmawi said.
Some 500 inspectors
are distributed around the Kingdom to check on any violations, as per the
directives by Prime Minister
Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Barmawi said.
Punishments
stipulated in the Industry and Trade Ministry law include a fine of up to
JD30,000 or one-year imprisonment, he said.
