The source added that the ministry will take the required procedures in case the patient was the victim of a medical error.
He also said that the patient, who is now in intensive care, will be closely monitored.
Al-Ghad reported that the 52-year-old patient paid a visit to the hospital two months ago aiming to remove a hernia.
He allegedly received an injection that resulted in him going into a coma.
A decision was made to postpone the operation for another time.
But after recovering and going back to the hospital to have the surgery, a member of the hospital staff allegedly attempted to give him the same injection.
The patient informed the staff member about what happened last time, but according to the family, the staff member insisted and the injection immediately caused the patient’s health to deteriorate.
The patient was transferred to the ICU.
His family confirmed also that the hospital administration and the Ministry of Health are following-up on his medical status.
The patient is married and has six children.
