The workshop is being done in implementation of Jordan’s 2020
policy for AI, and targets public and private, as well as academic institutions
and civil society institutions.
During the workshop, participants listened to lectures on the
ethics and principles expected to be included in the national AI charter, which
aims to boost the level of innovation and creativity, and provide an
encouraging environment for investment.
The principles aim at maintaining the sovereignty of law,
human rights, democratic values, and variation, while taking into consideration
the inclusion of all members of the community into AI systems and making sure
those systems work prejudice of color, race, religion, or gender.
All suggestions and ideas from the meeting will be analyzed by
the
ministry so as to reflect them in the charter’s articles.
It is also worth noting that Jordan’s 2020 AI policy aims to
define where the government is heading with AI-related policies, according to
Al-Ghad news.
The charter also aims
at improving innovation, increasing investments, supporting startups, and
encouraging Jordanian companies to provide solutions and AI services.
