According
to the director of the private education department at the Ministry of
Education, Reema Zreikat, the 3 percent increase corresponds to the inflation
rate, which has reached over 4 percent.
Zero toleranceShe also
emphasized that the ministry will not tolerate any private school or
kindergarten that raises its fees to achieve financial gain without meeting the
required conditions and obtaining official approval from the ministry's fee
increase committee.
Zerikat explained that the
ministry's approval of the fee increase is based on the system of establishment
and licensing of private educational institutions, which includes instructions
for paying tuition fees according to specific conditions.
She
also pointed out that the ministry relies on several justifications when
approving any fee increase for a private school or kindergarten.
These include a
clear record free of any penalty, complaint, or abuse, the number of
exemptions, grants, and discounts offered to students, the number of disabled
students accepted and the services provided to them, as well as the health care
provided to all students and quality standards.
