Ministry spokesperson, Yanal Al-Barmawi,  that the price for one kilogram of dressed chicken (netafat) has reached 1.75 Jordanian dinars, while fresh chicken prices range between 2.35 and 2.5 dinars per kilogram.

He noted that the average monthly consumption of fresh chicken was 14.5 million birds, weighing 21,000 tons in 2024, with an annual consumption of 175.5 million birds in the same year.
Al-Barmawi confirmed that the ministry continues to monitor chicken prices and quantities in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, to regulate prices and take necessary actions when needed.
Additionally, follow-up market visits showed a significant decrease in the prices of dressed chicken, wholesale prices of fresh chicken at Amman’s slaughterhouses, and retail prices, with various promotional offers available in stores and commercial centers.
Al-Barmawi expected further quantities of both types of chicken to be available in the local market, alongside a gradual decrease in prices.
The daily average consumption of poultry is 750,000 birds, including 500,000-550,000 fresh chickens and 200,000 dressed chickens.
