Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Al-Zayoud stated that the number of collective labor agreements signed through the Ministry's Labor Relations Directorate in 2024 reached 31 agreements across sectors including food industries, hotels, cement manufacturing, telecommunications, textiles, and the electricity sector. Under these agreements, workers in these sectors received benefits that improved their work environment and living conditions.

He noted that the Ministry's Labor Relations Directorate handled 35 labor disputes in 2024, of which 29 were resolved through direct negotiation, two were resolved during the conciliation representative stage, and three disputes were concluded in the labor court phase. One dispute was resolved through ministerial intervention, while one dispute remains under resolution as of the beginning of this year.

Al-Zayoud also mentioned that 13 internal regulations for labor unions and employer unions were filed with the Ministry's Labor Relations Directorate, and the directorate carried out 40 visits to these unions in 2024.

He explained that a labor dispute goes through four stages according to labor law to reach a resolution and reconcile between employers and employees in the private sector. These stages are as follows: the first stage is the Ministry's conciliation representative. If no satisfactory resolution is reached, the dispute moves to the second stage, which is ministerial intervention. If unresolved, the third stage is the Conciliation Board, chaired by the Ministry. The final stage for resolving any labor dispute between employees and employers is the labor court.
