Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) today, Thursday, Al-Zyoud noted that the ministry's inspection teams conducted 5,465 visits in the governorate during the year, resulting in 624 recorded violations.
He explained that the majority of labor complaints on the platform were related to unpaid wages.
Other complaints included termination of open-ended employment contracts, lack of formal employment contracts, forcing employees to take unpaid leave, coerced resignations, claims for annual leave compensation or deductions, demands for overtime pay and holiday allowances, wage reductions, failure to provide a copy of the employment contract, and failure to meet the minimum wage requirement.
Al-Zyoud emphasized that the ministry accepts all types of labor complaints via the "Hemaya" platform and addresses them based on their nature.
Labor inspectors communicate with both the employee and employer to verify the details of the complaint.
If the employer fails to cooperate with the ministry's procedures, a violation is issued against the establishment to ensure the worker's rights are upheld if the complaint is found valid and falls under the ministry's jurisdiction.
