Ministry says watermelon produce is safe

AMMAN — The Ministry of Agriculture said on Saturday affirmed that locally grown watermelons are safe and of good quality, rejecting as baseless claims otherwise on social media. اضافة اعلان

In a statement, the ministry said that what was being circulated on social media and the videos posted that question the quality and safety of the local watermelon product were inaccurate, advising citizens to ignore these allegations “which resurface every season”.

The ministry said that inspection teams tour the markets regularly in inspection campaigns to ensure that the produce on display is safe and of good quality.
