Abu Al-Samin said the ministry will also work on
improving other roads in the vicinity, although the projects do not fall under
the ministry’s responsibility.
The minister said that work under the current
project covered the area from the Eshtafina triangle to the intersection of the
town of Eshtafina, and from that to the Mar Elias intersection towards the
checkpoint of Al-Swan, all the way to Bir Al-Ajlouni, he added.
He said the work
included road expansion, asphalt mixing, sidewalks, and a drainage system on
both sides of the road. Metal barriers were also placed to separate lanes on
both sides of the road, sidewalks and isles were painted, and speed bumps were
created to force speeding vehicles to slow down.
The minister asserted that the roads were
constructed according to the highest global standards.
He pointed out that work began on November 6 to
expand an 8m -wide road extending from the
Ajloun Castle triangle towards the
access point of the cable car.
He explained that the project is under the
jurisdiction of the Ajloun Municipality, which is expected to complete it
within a month from its starting date.
He asserted that his ministry will not hesitate to provide
the best infrastructure services for projects, and tourist sites across the
Kingdom. He explained that work is underway in coordination with the relevant
authorities to implement several projects that serve tourist sites, which will
contribute to revitalizing the tourism activity, a step which will have a
positive effect on the Jordanian economy.
