In a statement on Thursday, the Director of the Blood Bank Department, Asia Adwan, said that the five-day drive will be held at the Orange village in Abdali, the bank's branches throughout Amman, West Amman, and the blood banks in public hospitals across the Kingdom.
The statement indicated that the drive is held under the title "A Drop of Blood Equals A Life" in support of patients suffering from thalassemia, cancer, hemophilia, and blood diseases.
Adwan said that the number of blood donors usually drops in Ramadan, during which Muslims fast for about 14 hours, making it difficult to donate blood. She is calling on eligible blood donors to participate in the national campaign.
