MoH, epidemiological committee consider booster jabs for all groups

AMMAN — Jordan’s Ministry of Health and epidemiological committee are considering administering COVID-19 booster jabs to all groups who received two doses at least six months ago, according to Al-Ghad news. The ministry’s secretary-general, Adel Al-Balbisi, contended that the third shot boosts protection against the virus, making hospitalization less likely. Balbisi explained Tuesday that while it is preferable for individuals to receive the same type of vaccine as their first two doses, it is possible to “mix and match” in urgent cases. So far, according to Balbisi, Pfizer booster shots have been administered to citizens, residents, and workers who had received two doses of the Sinopharm vaccine for travel purposes.
