AMMAN — Jordan’s
telecommunications sector has
earned a net profit of JD75.2 million in the first nine months of 2021,
according to Al-Rai daily.

Quoting an unidentified
source, Al-Rai said these profits saw a huge increase that reached 26.8 percent
compared to the same period of 2020.
The source noted that the
government’s decision to give local telecommunication companies free
frequencies, in a bid to enhance these companies’ efforts in mitigating the
implications of the
COVID-19 pandemic, resulted in an increase in the use of
these networks in especially in remote learning and other fields.
The source noted to the
government’s recent decision to extend the use of free frequencies will be
reflected in the financial performance of these companies in following months.
