AMMAN— Minister of Agriculture Khaled
Huneifat said on Monday that the ministry approved a plan to expand the
cultivation of wheat and barley through the allocation of interest-free loan
packages to farmers, through agricultural credits, according to Al-Ghad News.

Speaking at the
Jordan Society for Scientific Research at a session in which members of the society,
the secretary general of the Agriculture Ministry, the director general of the
National Center for Agricultural Research, the director general of the
Agricultural Credit Corporation, and the director general of the Cooperative
Corporation took part, Huneifat said the necessary seeds for the cultivation of
wheat and barley will be provided based on the geographical areas and climate
conditions, which heavily affect these crops.
Discussions covered strategies and ideas supporting
the expansion of wheat and barley cultivation, which are strategic crops, ways
to overcome challenges, and plans to help farmers grow and achieve the largest
return possible.
