Bourita said that Morocco’s King Mohammed VI would
not attend the Arab Leaders’ Summit, on Tuesday and Wednesday. He said that a
high-level Moroccan delegation has been taking part in the summit since the
outset.
He said the meeting is in view of the difficult
regional and international circumstances, and because the Arab world faces
pressing challenges, most prominent among them the Palestinian problem.
Bourita pointed out the continued Israeli violations
of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and of the holy sites in
Jerusalem, on which, he said, there is strong coordination with Jordan.
He said that
King Mohammed VI appreciates and
supports the role of His Majesty King Abdullah in protecting the holy sites in
Jerusalem.
He stressed that Jordan is an essential actor in joint Arab
action, and said Morocco is proud to work with it on a range of issues, based
on the identical vision the two countries have.
