AMMAN— Most of the symptoms experienced
by those who received the COVID-19 vaccines were described as “mild”, but some
patients experienced complications and side effects, according to former Health
Minister Dr.
Nathir Obeidat,
Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

Obeidat’s
remarks were made as a result of a study which aimed at monitoring the safety
of four
COVID-19 vaccines,
Pfizer,
AstraZeneca, Sino pharm, and Sputnik V.
659
people who took the vaccine in Jordan participated in the study, which was
conducted from January to September 2021.
Obeidat contended Jordan had a “successful” vaccination
program as “all symptoms were recorded through it.”
The study also found that “most of the side
effects and complications experienced by patients did not lead to death.”,
according to Obeidat.
He added
“the COVID-19 vaccines played an important role in changing the virus’s behavior,
the number of recorded cases, and the intensity of infection”, indicating “the virus
still exists.”
Obeidat
also believes that “there is still a need for the vaccine, as the disease did
not vanish and the currently-spread variant spreads faster than previous ones
but causes less harm.”
He
also added “it is important to take the COVID-19 vaccine”, indicating “many
countries now consider the fourth jab of the vaccine important.”
