Most refugees in Jordan prefer resettlement — CARE

AMMAN CARE Jordan’s 2021 Annual Needs Assessment showed that most refugees in Jordan (57 percent) would prefer resettlement to a third country, as their first option, Khaberni reported. اضافة اعلان

CARE is a US-based international humanitarian agency delivering emergency relief and long-term international development projects.

On the other hand, 39.1 percent of refugees in Jordan said they preferred to return to their homeland, marking a fundamental change since 2020, especially, when the overwhelming preference was to stay in the Kingdom.

Approximately 88.5 percent of registered refugees in the country are Syrian, 8.8 percent are Iraqi and the remaining are of other nationalities, including Somalis and Yemenis.
