Mubaidin, the government's spokesperson,
highlighted Jordan's historical, geographical, political, and social ties with
Palestine, asserting that Palestinian issues are a primary national security
concern for Jordan, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Mubaidin added that Jordanians have shown
national support for Gaza since the war began, expressing it responsibly within
the law, while criticizing attempts to manipulate public opinion.
He stressed that a strong Jordan supports
Palestine, highlighting the necessity of upholding Jordan's sovereignty and
enforcing the law.
Regarding discussions about arrests, violence,
and restrictions on those showing solidarity with Gaza, Mubaidin denied such
claims, attributing tensions to those attempting to provoke public security
forces and engage in blackmail and agitation.
He acknowledged the role of security forces in
maintaining public order but cautioned against disrespectful behavior towards them
during protests, emphasizing that such actions do not represent Jordanians or
Jordanian values.
Mubaidin also
warned against attempts to hijack protests for unrelated agendas,
emphasizing that they do not reflect Jordanian sentiments and are aimed at
undermining societal peace and national sovereignty.
He highlighted Jordan's resilience through
crises, emerging stronger, and reiterated the country's clear goals in
supporting Palestinian causes and aiding Gaza, while also promoting peace and
preventing unilateral escalations in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He underscored Jordan's efforts to facilitate
aid to Gaza through various means and its success in garnering international
support, noting Jordan's significant diplomatic influence and its impact on
reshaping global discourse and responses to the Gaza crisis.
Notably, he pointed out that Jordanian
rhetoric and stance have influenced global discourse and international
positions to the extent that certain terminologies from Jordanian diplomacy
have been circulated and utilized by prominent European and global leaders and
politicians, stressing the significance of His Majesty King Abdullah’s
intervention in promoting aid efforts in Washington, and the absence of similar
initiatives from other Arab nations.
