NCHR Highlights Economic and Social Strategies, Calls for Global Action on Gaza
Amman - The National Center for Human Rights (NCHR) emphasized the key objectives of Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision (2023-2025), the Indicative Executive Program (2021-2024) and the National Social Protection Strategy (2019-2025) as foundational frameworks for advancing human rights in Jordan.اضافة اعلان

In a statement released Tuesday, coinciding with the Arab Day for Population and Development, the NCHR underscored government initiatives to empower marginalized groups that are essential to development.

These include efforts to uplift rural women through agricultural schools established in various governorates, which aim to increase job opportunities and income through projects focused on recycling surplus agricultural products, particularly in impoverished and remote regions.

The NCHR also commended the launch of the Jordan Development Gateway platform, which tracks and provides statistical data for measuring progress toward sustainable development goals.

Furthermore, the NCHR highlighted the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where Israeli forces are committing flagrant violations to international humanitarian laws, bombing civilian infrastructure, including schools, homes, and hospitals, which led to mass displacement and restricted access of humanitarian aid.

The Israeli actions are serious violations of international humanitarian and human rights laws, it said, adding that the Israeli war will set back Gaza’s development by 24 years, according to UN projections.

The NCHR called on the international community to take urgent action to halt the violations, emphasizing the need for psychological and social support, reconstruction, and humanitarian aid, including medical supplies, water, electricity, fuel and food for Gazans.
