AMMAN — The Jordan National Society of Consumer Protection (NSCP) called on the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply to intensify its surveillance of the market in light of complaints filed about trespassing the price caps set by the government, especially chicken and vegetable oils, according to Alghad news.

The president of the (NSCP), Mohammad Obaidat, advised people to stop buying expensive commodities until their prices dwindle down, asking them to look for low-priced substitutes and buy only what their daily need requires.
Obaidat stressed that merchants will increase the prices even more if people flock to the market to buy high quantities of goods.
