National Aid Fund to support 120,000 families

AMMAN — A list of 120,000 families, among the poorest in the country, will receive cash support this year from the National Aid Fund, according to Al-Ghad News. The fund’s acting director general, Barq Al-Dmour, said that the fund has transferred cash to about 111,500 families for the months of December, February, and March, and that the fund has contacted an additional 8,500 families informing them they have been selected. The unified cash support program targets poor and needy families whose income is below the national average. The program uses more than 57 indicators related to income, living standards, and level of need to determine a family’s eligibility. Dmour, who is also the secretary general of the Ministry of Social Development, said that the cash support will be disbursed on a monthly basis starting this month.
