Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hunaifat said on
Monday that the agricultural identification number is part of a comprehensive
farmer data system that his ministry is actively developing.
The identification number, according to the
minister, will improve target services and maintain a seamless flow throughout
the manufacturing and supply chains amid various crises.
He also said that the program will help trace and
write off bogus holdings, and provide direct compensation to those eligible, in
case they incur losses.
The minister added
that the agricultural national number will be based on a sequential system
related to the type of agriculture, geographical area, and type of holding, and
will contain all information about farms and holdings.
