Khashashneh
stressed that littering poses a threat to human health and negatively impacts
natural and
animal health, and harms tourist destinations. He noted that the
ministry in 2021 implemented one of key provisions of the law on waste
management, which includes issuing fines to reduce the practice of discarding
of waste in parks, gardens, and from car windows.
The Ministry of
Environment stressed that preserving the environment and cleanliness is
essential to attracting foreign tourists, in addition to raising awareness on
illegal practices, which oftentimes lead to accidents, like fires.
