The Cabinet, in its session held today Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Haza, approved an amended system for managing the shared sections in properties and residential complexes for the year 2025.

The system aims to enhance the participation of property owners in managing their buildings and residential complexes by reorganizing the provisions regarding the general assembly meetings, decision-making mechanisms, and resolving any issues or disputes related to shared property ownership.
Additionally, the system empowers owners' associations and the union of owners to contract with a shared services management company for the management and maintenance of common areas and infrastructure within the building or complex.
The system obligates the property developer to repair and correct any defects in the structural parts of the shared sections by requiring them to open a dedicated bank guarantee account for the project.
Furthermore, the system assigns the Department of Lands and Survey and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority the responsibility of organizing the registry for owners' associations and the union of owners, documenting their bylaws, licensing and monitoring shared services management companies and real estate development companies, and recording contracts made between the union of owners or owners' associations, including those with shared services management companies, as well as facilitating investment.
