AMMAN — The
Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) announced the circulation of its newly designed JD50 banknote on Sunday,
as part of the fifth issue, marking the first new JD50 banknote in 20 years.

The new banknote, along with the
JD1denomination, which was released in December 2022, features improved paper
quality and state-of-the-art security features.
The CBJ stated
that the other denominations of the issue, including the JD5, JD10, and JD20,
will gradually enter circulation and be interchangeable with older notes.
DesignThe
JD50 bill showcases a watermark of His Majesty King Abdullah and the denomination
"50" visible under light, a 3D security thread and a holographic
patch with a 3D seven-looped star visible when tilted, as well as raised ink
and raised lines that can be felt upon holding the bill.
