AMMAN— The government of Nicaragua has
appointed the former Prime Minister and the former Vice President of the
International Court of Justice (ICJ), Awn Al-Khasawneh, as a judge in the case
that Nicaragua filed against Germany.

This case arose due to Germany's refusal to
comply with the ICJ decision regarding the supply of weapons to Israel. This
decision follows the court's ruling on the lawsuit brought by South Africa
against Israel for committing genocide against the Palestinian people during
the war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, Khaberni reported.
Notably, Khasawneh will leave Amman for The
Hague on April 2 to deliver the case documents.
