AMMAN — Official
spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Affairs, Ambassador
Haitham Abu Al-Foul, said that there is no truth to the rumor that a Jordanian girl
was detained in the Jordanian embassy in Lebanon, showing surprise that such
news is being spread.
Abu Al-Foul stressed that no
Jordanian embassy, anywhere, detains people; if needed, that is done by the
security services.
He also said that neither the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs nor the Jordanian embassy in Beirut were informed
of the detention of any Jordanian girl on Lebanese territory, adding that Jordanian
embassies help Jordanians abroad and follow up on their affairs and situation.
