At the same time, according to Hawari, WHO will not announce
the end of the pandemic anytime soon.
He said that despite the increase in respiratory infections,
among both adults or children, only 14 people are currently undergoing
treatment in hospitals for COVID-19 infections.
He added that there is now a resurgence of winter-related
diseases, and pointed to the increase in the number of seasonal influenza cases
in the
US and the lack of medicines to treat them.
According to Hawari, field hospitals have become a strategic
asset that is called upon whenever the need arises.
Hawari stressed that, at the height of the pandemic, the
ministry opened six hospitals with a capacity of approximately 600 beds and
having different specialties, and that the quality of services provided to
citizens by the ministry has made a qualitative leap.
He also reminded that that the measures taken to deal with
the pandemic have taken a toll on Jordanians.
