During
a press conference in which he reviewed the most important achievements of the
Ministry of Agriculture in 2023 and its most prominent plans for the upcoming
year, Hneifat stated, “In the
event that the ministry prohibits exports, cases may be raised against it, as
well as the government, considering that it is not related to government work
but is a private sector, where import approvals are from the ministry.”
He
added that the ministry’s goal is to dig 10,000 wells this year to secure the
issue of irrigation for
Jordanian farmers.
He
pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the private
sector, has started implementing a project to cultivate 3,000 dunams of fodder,
barley, and potatoes in Al-Abyad
to open 300
job opportunities.
He
pointed out that the completion rate in the seed bank is about 30 percent.
