UNHCR needs $46 million to give 120,000 refugee
families in Jordan winter cash assistance, in light of the “increasingly
unstable” social and economic situation of refugees, it said.
Fayez said that UNHCR is in contact with donors to
find a way to finance the refugees.
In a recent report, the UNHCR said that “funding for
UNHCR’s $46 million appeal for winter cash assistance” has become even more
important with the approach of winter, and the goal is to reach 120,000 of the
most vulnerable refugee families in Jordan.
According to the UNHCR,
only about 42 percent of its financial requirements in Jordan for the current
year, which ends in two months, had been received until October 25.
