AMMAN — The
Ministry of Health has said that there has been no increase in fees related to patients
referrals from health centers to governments hospitals, according to Khaberni
News.

The ministry said it has not
increased the fees on patients’ referrals, but has extended the period of time
covered in the referral of a patient requested by a general practitioner to a
specialist at a comprehensive health center or at specialized hospital clinic
from three to six months.
The aim of the extension,
according to the ministry, is to alleviate the burden of
patients who have to
make frequent visits to specialists. However, fees stood at 250 fils for
referrals valid for three months, but now stand at 500 fils, valid for six
months.
In its statement, the
ministry called for accurate reporting of news and to verify information from
its official source.
