The center’s Media Response Unit Director Ahmed Naimat contended that the center attempts to implement strict measures and find solutions to avoid thinking about lockdowns, adding that the center does not have intentions to impose lockdowns.
Naimat added that as long as the capacity of hospitals reaches an alarming point where they cannot offer their health services, all options will be considered. He added the center is thoroughly observing the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom.
The director also stressed the importance of adhering to the general health protocols, including wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and urging people to get vaccinated.
He also stressed the ICU’s north of the kingdom is seeing an increase in COVID-19 cases, with nearly half of the beds filled.
However, in the central regions, the ICU beds are operating at 40 percent capacity.
“everything is possible if this situation kept going”, he added.
