AMMAN — Lockdown will not be imposed during Eid Al-Fitr holiday, Minister of State for Media Affairs and government
spokesperson Sakher Dudin said on Saturday.
Responding to circulated rumors on the issue, Dudin said
that the eid holiday, starting on Tuesday, May 11, and spanning until Saturday, May 15, will be subject to the partial curfew currently in place, from 7pm till
6am.
Meanwhile, attending prayers on foot will be permitted
during the five-day holiday.
The minister said that the first day of eid is expected to
be Thursday, May 13, but the holiday was determined to start two days before to
give people a chance to do their shopping for the holidays.
