AMMAN - Chairman of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) Hussein Laboun said the commission will not tolerate with any power outages, considering the sustainability of electric current as a top priority.

Laboun remarks came as the Kingdom witnessed during the current polar depression a total of 2901 power failures, of 2532 were the share of the Jordan Electric Power Company (
JEPCO).
He stressed that the commission take necessary actions in accordance with law provisions, adding that the EMRC has announced raising readiness sufficiently in advance.
The electricity load on the country’s power grid on Thursday registered a record high of 3,600 megawatts, Laboun said.
