AMMAN — Normal tourist activity
resumed at
Petra on Tuesday morning after crews repaired path ways that were
damaged by heavy rains on Monday, according to Hala News.

Petra witnessed
record rainfall on Monday,
exceeding 80mm in some areas of the district, where average annual rainfall is
172.4mm.
Head of the Petra Development and Tourism
Region Authority Suleiman Al-Farajat said that the authority's crews had
rehabilitated the main paths leading into the ancient city “as quickly as
possible” to ensure that visitors from all over the world could enjoy the rose-red city.
Tourist movement at the archaeological site
“has returned to normal”, he said, and crews are currently working to repair
streets, drainage systems, and other areas affected by the downpour across the
district.
