Norwegian ambassador reviews charity projects in Karak

AMMAN — Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Jordan Espen Lindbeck reviewed on Tuesday projects and initiatives by various charities at an exhibition in Karak Governorate, according to Ammon News.اضافة اعلان

The exhibition at the Zahoum Charitable Association in Karak displayed traditional products and handicrafts made by women, and was attended by representatives of associations from Karak, Tafileh, and Maan governorates.

Ambassador Lindbeck expressed his happiness with the various crafts and products on display, which contribute to the development of an economy based on women’s skills. He highlighted the importance of the collaborative process between Jordan and the Kingdom of Norway, especially with regard to supporting civil society institutions.

Head of the Zahoum Charitable Association Abdul Rahman Al-Malahama reviewed the efforts by the Kingdom of Norway to support civil society institutions, including their support for the partnership with the Al-Hayat Center for Civil Society Development’s Rased program.

Malahama spoke about the effects of the pandemic on the work of nonprofit organizations in Jordan, indicating the role of charities in raising the level of social integration, expanding the workforce to include various segments of society, and reducing poverty and unemployment in the Kingdom.
