The loss of jobs was mainly due to the COVID-19
pandemic, which stipulated a shift to distance learning and the suspension of
schools during lockdowns.
The
Jordanian Women Solidarity Institute points to
the importance of abolishing obstacles facing teachers and taking steps to
protect them as well as to support their efforts in the educational process,
particularly as the Kingdom recovers from the impact of the pandemic.
Solidarity added that
empowering teachers
financially, motivating them, and building their capacity is an essential
guarantee for future generations.
According to the report, the number of students enrolled for
the academic year 2020–2021 reached 2 million, 49.4 percent of whom are female.
