AMMAN — The
Jordanian Seismological Observatory at the
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources detected an earthquake on Tuesday,
August 8, measuring 3.4 on the
Richter scale in Wadi Araba, south of the
Kingdom.

Ghassan Sweidan, president of the observatory, stated that the
earthquake was recorded at 8:29 a.m. and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers,
indicating that it was a weak to
moderate earthquake that most residents did
not feel, Jordan News Agency Petra, reported.
