AMMAN — The
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Expatriates has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces' intrusion
into
Al-Shifa Medical Hospital in Gaza,
deeming it a clear violation of international humanitarian law, particularly
the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilians in Time of War.

The Ministry unequivocally placed the
responsibility for the safety of civilians and medical personnel in the
hospital squarely on Israel.
Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, the Ministry's
official spokesperson, emphasized that the ongoing arbitrary attacks and the
intensifying war on Gaza, which includes the targeting of civilian structures
in the sector and the systematic destruction of crucial civil facilities
providing essential services to Gazans, coupled with the policy of collective
punishment, represent a condemned persistence in grave violations o
f international humanitarian law and human rights, amounting to war crimes.
Qudah underscored that the precarious
situation in Gaza imposes a legal responsibility on the Security Council, while
the international community bears an ethical duty to exert pressure on Israel,
the occupying power, compelling it to halt its ongoing aggression and warfare,
along with its unjustifiable targeting of civilians, particularly women and
children, under any pretext or excuse.
