In a statement, JSMO said that, as per regulation, samples were taken from the shipment before unloading the ship, which arrived at the port on May 9. The samples were sent for testing and the tanker was unloaded in storage tanks on May 13.
Samples were again taken from the storage tanks, before the quantities unloaded to filling stations, where tests showed that the samples were mixed with octane 90 petrol.
A third test was carried out for confirmation, according to JSMO, after which the quantities were seized.
